It is my intention to acquire a position where I can make creative and conceptual contributions in a fast paced, goal-oriented, team environment by building relationships with visually stimulating print materials that increase business, build revenue, solicit a specific response or spur emotions.
Owner/Artisan, Cotton Gin Design, 2007 – Present
Cotton Gin Studios is the business I started to supplement my income and provide an outlet for pent up creative energy. I sell unique, hand-crafted, heirloom knit and crochet gift items online as well as participate in local craft shows and maintain a year-round booth at a local craft mall. I also work with a major craft retailer, testing patterns and designing crochet items for their customers to create using their products.

I design mail pieces and marketing materials of varying specifications with intentional persuasive elements to heighten the influence of each piece and build better ROI for the company’s diverse list of customers. It is our goal to not only build visually aesthetic pieces but also, successful and high effective as well.
Graphic Designer, Impressions Printing, 2013 – 2014
I design and perform production on numerous print pieces, anything from business cards and forms to high end marketing materials like posters, brochures and catalogs. I also process and create variable data mail merge files for direct mail pieces.
Print Coordinator, The Oklahoma Publishing Company-The Oklahoman Direct 2012-2013
I coordinated and trafficked print jobs from the initial RFQ to customer delivery. I worked with local and out-of-state printers to provide the best quality and pricing to the company’s customers. I wrote policies and procedures for the position I held and updated the filing system. The creativity in this position came in the forms of problem-solving, trouble-shooting and making things work with the resources on hand. I generated print bids without the benefit of estimating software and wrote a step-by-step manual of how to write print bids, generate Purchase Orders and process print jobs in an expeditious manner.
Interactive Graphic Designer, The Oklahoma Publishing Company
I worked as an interactive graphic designer in the advertising department. The major focus of the team was online ads, mobile ads and email blasts, but I contributed creatively to any project requested by the sales staff that might include any number of projects from print ads to business cards, direct mail, brochures and like.

I worked on a team that develops signage, webpages and ads for in-store events and corporate marketing. I contribute creatively by offering conceptual ideas for those campaigns as well as logo and typography design and layout, print production and the technical aspects of design utilizing Adobe Creative Suite 5. My main responsibilities are Window Design, Store Event Theme Design and Print Ads. I am proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

For the first three years of my time with OPUBCO, I was a designer in Retail Advertising focusing on newspaper ad development and design. For the latter three years I worked for The Oklahoman Direct focusing on print design and direct mail, where I managed and maintained the creative design of numerous Oklahoma City Metro area advertisers’ direct marketing campaigns. Duties included creative brainstorming, concept, design and production of direct marketing projects including self mailers, identity/stationery packages, brochures, catalogs and the like.

Creative thinking and design are my passions. Troubleshooting and production are my best friends. Goals and deadlines are the fuel that drives me. But Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop CS5 are the programs where my skills are best seen in action. I work effectively in Mac and Windows environments.
